 FAQs

  • A 30-minute therapy consultation is a chance for you and the therapist to get to know each other, discuss what’s bringing you to therapy, and explore whether it feels like a good fit before beginning ongoing sessions. It’s a supportive, no-pressure conversation designed to help you make an informed decision about your care.

  • Yes. Once your first appointment is booked, you’ll receive an intake form through Jane to complete before your session. This form helps provide background information and ensure your therapist can best support you right from the start.

  • An invoice will be sent to you directly after each session. Payment is due at that time.

Payments can be made via e-transfer to prtherapy@proton.me.

  • Some private insurance plans may cover psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). We strongly recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm coverage details before beginning treatment.

  • All appointments are booked and take place through Jane’s secure Telehealth platform. You’ll need to create a Jane app account and log in at the time of your session. A stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone (like a computer, tablet, or smartphone), and a quiet, private space are recommended for the best experience.

  • Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. No-shows or cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee.

Appointments are held for 10 minutes past the scheduled start time to accommodate late arrivals or technical difficulties. If you do not arrive within that window, the session will be closed and considered a missed appointment.

  • At this time, all sessions are offered virtually through the secure Jane app platform, making it easy to connect from the comfort of your own home. Virtual services are available to individuals across Ontario.

  • Due to the nature of scheduling, last-minute sessions are generally not available. It’s recommended to book your appointments in advance to ensure availability. If you need an appointment sooner than scheduled, please reach out, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you based on availability.
